The Newton County Board of Commissioners invites all vendors and contractors to visit the Purchasing Information Page on a regular basis.  We will list each Request for Bid (RFB) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) on this web page when the County is soliciting bids and/or proposals from qualified vendors and/or contractors.  The bidding process is governed by the procedures approved by the Board of Commissioners as set forth in the Newton County Purchasing Policy and Procedures.

Please read each bid package carefully to ensure all the requirements outlined in the package are fulfilled when submitting a bid package.  The Newton County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or proposals.

Sludge Dewatering Equipment

Newton County Water Resources (“OWNER”) is requesting proposals to preselect sludge dewatering equipment to be used as the basis of design for the proposed Cornish Creek WTP Sludge Dewatering Improvements project. All dewatering equipment and supporting systems shall be supplied by a single manufacturer (“PROPONENT”) for sole source responsibility of the dewatering system. The proposal shall include a guaranteed maximum fixed price to provide all equipment and servicesoutlined in this Request for Proposals (RFP) at the time the project is publicly bid which is anticipated to be in June/July 2018. RFP evaluation and equipment selection will be finalized within 60 days from the submittal date. Funding for this project will be provided through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) administered by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA).

American Iron and Steel (AIS) requirements shall be applicable to all equipment furnished under this RFP scope. The Proponent must include verification of AIS compliance or submit evidence of an approved waiver in their equipment proposal to be eligible for final equipment selection.
